Who's that guy changing his shoes at the end ?
Discerninator (November 15, 2008 at 11:39 pm)
That would be Alfred,. Viewed all 8 of these clips again tonight, couldn't stop, they were fascinating, first time was about 6 mo's ago. Got alot out of it the second time around, I like the way he really got into the slow movement intro of the Beethoven during rehearsal, like lang lang. His thoughts of the 4 characterizations to think about a piece was good stuff and also , musicianship without intellect is amateurish, how true.

Do you think he rides horses?? that would be so sexy !
I often watch these videos. now I doubt about the fact I put enought intellect in playing !!! I don't think so . :)
Discerninator (November 29, 2008 at 2:44 am)
I would hope he does, but he's getting up there a little bit these days, probably back in the day.... you could be right about not enough intellect.... :) I'm just joking , I'm with you, but even he has had more than his share of brain farts along the way, just higher quality ones than mine ....

Well I don't understand the first sentence you wrote, and then what's "brain farts" ? ( i guess it means something else than what it means !)did you say that he 's riding these days ??
did you notice that he and his son have the same mouth ?
so you think I'm stupid !!! :o

Are my eyes playing tricks on me, or is that Alfred Brendel playing a Bosendorfer?

Steinway, you got owned. Alfred Brendel is picky about his pianos...

indeed a Bosendorfer, look again
hellomate639 (June 25, 2008 at 1:15 am)
I know. I was just surprised.

I want to try out Bosendorfer and Bluthner. Steinways are very nice, but they're the only high quality piano I've tryed my hands at.

The middle tone on Steinways is lush. The upper tone makes an echo throughout the piano.

However, what I've heard in Bluthners, their upper notes sing, and their middle notes are smooth, and makes no extra sound. Even though it was only a recording, I could hear the quality of preserving the sound of the notes.
