I don't get it; why do they want to "save" the tasmanian devil? Just let it be. If the source of the problem was humans then yeah you gotta fix the mess, but otherwise i don't see why you wanna "save" a deadly predator.

Cancer can be caught, but not always cured. and the cancer that isnt easy to cure needs kemo and stuff like that, which im afraid devils most likly are not going to get soon
