If by "new one" you mean the Panda Cross, it's been on sale in the rest of Europe for 3 or 4 years now but it's finally hit the UK. I drove one 340 miles on a test drive and it was great fun! Fantastic off road and did 46 MPG although it's possible to get 60 MPG.

Wow... what this guy doesn't know about 4x4's could fill a book... Unimogs, Landcruiser HZJ78's,well any Toyota 4x4 really: these are the real kings of the dirt.

i have a RR classic and i must say of all the so called 4x4s i have owned it out preforms all with ease. i think if anyone says anything untrue about them it is because of a number of the following reasons; 1.they have never owned or properly used one in the correct manner or condition in which is feasible for the situation for a vehicle with such a heavy power to weight ri ratio. 2 or the subject had some poor turn of luck of road somewhere.

From what he described it sounds like the panda has AWD not 4WD
LordKnassus (January 4, 2009 at 5:27 pm)
it's exactly the same. AWD means All Wheel Drive, 4WD means 4 Wheel Drive...

6 MPG? There's a new one.

Well clarkson got 8 MPG in the RR when he tested it, the Panda Cross got 60 MPG when 4x4 magazine tested it. Big difference, also road tax for the RR would be £400+ a year, £110 a year for the Panda. I have the 2wd Panda and have had 82 MPG.
