That will install itself as a program, which you can start running from the Start menu, as you would with most other programs. ;)

A while ago, I made a VERY brief (sorry) guide for getting started with ModPlug Tracker, and at least getting SOME sound out of it.
It's at my site, here:

(Since that's a text file, it might be easier to read if you download it (right-click, Save Link or Target As) and view it in a text editor like Notepad.)

EDIT 3: Just to try to avoid me having to reply to every other comment which says that it must have taken me ages to make, or that I must've been bored:
This was just a way for me to pass a few hours of boredom. Yes, I WAS bored. No, I'm not trying to "prove" anything - that this is what I'm "capable of". I just thought I'd upload my music as a video here, to YouTube. I'm not the one who spread it around to Digg or random blogs, - I uploaded it here at YouTube some time back in December 2007 and it has only just "taken off", after all.

EDIT 2: I'm making the IT file be available now too, don't really mind any more. I guess I'm too busy working on new things (not mod music) to worry about the 'old' ones. :P

A piece of music I made using some of the various sounds Windows XP and 98 come with.

The music is about 1:31 long. After that, I show the sounds which were used.

The video is screen-captured from ModPlug Tracker, the program which I made the music on.

CBR (320 Kb/sec) EXTENDED VERSION:
If the extended version above gives you problems - such as cutting off at the end, because the duration was miscalculated (appears to happen with iTunes?), then I've made this constant bitrate version, as an alternative to the variable bitrate version above. This will fix the cutting off and miscalculation of the duration, but is a little unnecessarily large and is a little lower quality than VBR (but highest possible when using CBR).

Thanks everybody for the millions of views, and thousands of comments and ratings.

I'm now disabling comments because I'm fairly sure anything anyone wants to ask or say has been said or resolved at least twice in the previous almost-5,000 comments. It's also getting annoying (understatement of the year) to have to answer things I've already answered in the video description, the video itself, or both.

I thank everybody once again.
I never intended for this to become so popular. =)

Interesting. Perhaps he built a time machine, stole it from me before it was even made at the end of December 2007, then showed it to you before it was made.

I've had to prove dozens of times in the past 13,000-odd comments that I'm the creator, and quite frankly, it's become annoying and tedious. Therefore if people continue to make posts like that without researching the facts (and read comments) beforehand, I think I'll disable comments soon.
