Neil deGrasse Tyson on "Intelligent Design" at Beyond Belief
BackThis clip picks up where the one I'm responding to ("Gods retreat from cosmology") leaves off -- it is advisable that you watch that clip first. Both clips are from Neil deGrasse Tyson's presentation titled "The Perimeter of Ignorance" at Beyond Belief 2006. Among other things, Tyson asserts that the religiosity of some of history's greatest scientists and their willingness to invoke the philosophy of intelligent design limited the scope of their inquiry into the natural world, to the detriment of scientific progress in general.

Interesting thoughts.
However, God did create the Universe, but in such a way as to allow it to live out its existence without His needing to micromanage it.
It will deteriorate over time and cease, as will all of His temporal creation. This is a concept that these "learned" scientists fail to understand.
It is not necessary that it be perfect, only efficient enough for the task for which it was created and no more.

Which Bible verse was that again?

Did you miss the video this was a response to? The one where he mentioned Galileo said the bible told you how to get into heaven, not how it's run?
So, it doesn't matter if it's in the bible or not. The bible isn't all inclusive. And people who jump to the question you asked aren't thinking about the actual question or fully searching for answers.

You and the scientists both base your understanding on assumptions. I don't think either of you have much to say on anything at all. Banging gongs the lot of you.

Religion does the same thing, but on a much bigger scale.
Bang your own gong slowly.
