keep up the practice, and watch these videos. the more practice you have the less chance the nerves will mess you up. Parents,Spouses etc. when practicing, be patient and dont show your nerves, it makes it worse for the beginner. have your new driver verbally tell you first what he or she will do next that way you can see if they are thinking correctly, clearly and safely before they make a maneuver. it will help minimize those frightening unexpected moments. GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Checking blind spot has saved me from accidents multiple times, I recommend every driver to check blind spot before changing lane.

always check blindspots on any type of lane change, lane merge, bike lane, center left turn lane etc... keep it up

I would check the mirrors and blind spot first. Using the turn signals if there is a car in the blind spot will make the driver feel unsafe.

After failing my first test for going up on the curb i watched these videos and they helped a lot! Today i passed my test with only 2 points off! One thing to remember that i got a point off for is i was in a middle turn lane turning left and i had my wheels turned before i started moving, the guy said that if i was rear ended i could go into oncoming traffic, so just get control of your nerves and it is a really easy test.

I'm usually real good about checking my blind spot after checking my mirror when making a lane change or turn to the right, but the man in the video brought up a great point about having to do the same thing when merging into the middle of the street to make a left turn. This is just as important because there might be another car behind you who always wants to turn left and they may already be in that lane.

It's amazing how many people don't actually do this blind spot check. I dodge accidents daily due to lame drivers.
