i guess the best and noblest intentions, even to rid ones country of a great oppressor, can lead to something terrible. and then those who love the country blindly accept them as heroes because they think that hating anything that ever crossed paths with it is the same thing as patriotism, or rather love of another country that you claim to be somehow linked to, aka a plastic paddy. well, i think that these comments have done some good, and hopefully the next commenter will think before posting.

Indeed ancientclan. Obviously there was the agreement with Sinn Fein, the political wing of the IRA, for a ceasefire. I'm British, but I don't hate Irish people because of it, and yes, they did kill more Irish citizens in areas like Dublin with bombs. Why can't people realise that blowing the crap out of people DOESN'T want to make them believe in their cause?

think before you speak, and when you speak, know what you are speaking of. why dont you look up the IRA before you praise it just because it was irish and used to fight the brits. if you literally mean "IRA forever", then your one sick freak. the modern IRA, although i dont believe they are above the radar if they are even active anymore, was more interested in smuggling and selling guns and drugs than the welfare of mother Ireland. even the past IRA killed more Irish civilians that Brits.
