0G... Total weightlessness... awesome... no spilled wine did you see that?
Sha1tan (November 24, 2008 at 6:33 pm)
It's not weightlessness, it's actually because of the "weightfullness" (1G) throughout the maneuver that the drink demonstration was possible.

Had this been on a zero or negative G maneuver, there would be tea and glass everywhere.

and if bob said "it was unrecoverable" you better believe he was right. Flat spins are nasty.

In what planes are you speaking of that flat spins are dangerous? I agree if you are speaking of the Aero Commander. However, flat spins are a part of nearly all aerobatic shows in aerobatic planes. I used to do them all the time in the Decathlon.

After flying the twin Aero Commander five and six days and nights a week for seven months, I thought I WAS Bob Hoover...SHEEYAT!

I flew that dumbed down model of the shrike flying freight between Michigan and Chicago. The twin Aero Commander is an easy bird to control in bad weather. The engines in the piston model have 297HP each. Very hot.

I loved "Reaching for the skies" I wish the soundtrack to the series was available.

I've still got the series on video - i taped it when it was first shown. Loved the sountrack as well. Was it Rod Argent who wrote it?
