what i dont understand is why is he drinkin it str8 from the stil without proper filtration this shit can kill or blind you becuase of the methonal that is in it, after you filter it, then it is ok to drink

he can boil the mix at the temprature he is becuase of his setup the water cools and recondenses back into the stil, if you dont have the type of setup he dus just do it right and boil under 120

sir, your temps. are from outer space. water boils at 212deg. and ethanol at a far less 173deg. no offense, just a clarification.

Yo Dude! You are so right!
I stand corrected... lol, I don't know how I did that! We've had temps almost to 120 this year, and I didn't see no water boilin and my liquor is still in the bottles. I guess I should think before posting things, and also maybe not be drinking when I write!

Let this be a lesson to the young-uns... picklin yer brains ain't smart!

The trick is to get the ethanol evaporating out, without the water evaporating out.

that's if your going for slow distillation, while true what you said, it distills much fast to boil both out as a vapor, then recondense just one of them. like the way the kid did it. As for the purity, just add carbon in the pipe to convert the methanol chain into ethanol.

Also could do with watching the temperature at the bend the closer the temp is to BP of ethanol the better the yield
