It's just as valid as any other music software. Besides, the latest versions can act as VST hosts, which gives you even more power and flexibility. I use it a lot and to me it's irreplaceable.

ok... in the instruments tab, you should try acessing the thing entitled GM.DLS... this has instruments in... drag and drop them into the main screen to use them. from there, use the patterns screen to make music
