Mythology: icarus flew too close to the sun and his wax and feather wings melted-datalus was his father. He tried to go too far and got out of his depth----"losing my religion" is an old southern expression meaning I am at my breaking point and losing it literally (we usually mean we are swearing)or committing an act that is not religiously ok

Atheism however means that you reject the belief of a divine being all together. Its like saying that Anarchy is a form of government when the definition of Anarchy is the lack of government. Atheism is the lack of a belief and thus religion. Agnostics are like Atheists in that they practice no religion but they also don't reject the possibility of a divine being. your argument works for agnostics but atheism is merely the lack of religion

doesn't anyone understand what this song is actually about? it has absolutely nothing to do with his religion as far as faith in God or the bible. he wrote it as his coming out song. he's in love with someone but isn't sure how people will deal with it or how he himself will be able to deal with it. it's a beautiful song, very simple, no need to over analyze.
