and they are not Rich, they have an endless hunger, a black hole. Anyone think the sh/t happening is a nesseccary evil? to benefit man in the long run? appreciate what we have, help us broaden our perspective get over our prejudice ingrained over the millenia. Positive spin ;)

Sony are working on technology that requires chip insertion to interact with virtual reality. The future of society lies in computer games, like world of warcraft. The vice grip tightens the world over (or perhaps the Universe) powers are conspiring to quickly limit our freedom and awareness as we continue to awaken as a specie. Resistance and subserviance is what they want, give up the fight and ego - there is your salvation. blahblahblah

I concur.
I will 'purchase' a good if i feel the content is worthy, to support the artist/developer. Some(older) people find this concept hard to grasp that people will pay for something after they have acquired it (illegally or otherwise) - provided it is worth it. Radiohead released their album Rainbows available to dload on their site free of charge, however they still made money. Support independant artists and pirate multinational corp.

This stuff already exists as DRM (Digital Rights Management) So far items such as music files and video use it. But we are already seeing the rise of Microsoft and other documents which check whether they are allowed.
You can imagine a government digitally pulling the plug on all content which supported a strike or corp criticism
This ability to have an 'allow' state in media, set by someone else, is evil dangerous level of information control.
We must break DRM and similar all ways possible.

It is far more important that we educate people about safe ways to pirate music and educational material, than it is to protect copyright.
In a sane society those who made money from software should pay for it. Those who wish to enjoy or learn and play will develop the media.
We should see that copying and sharing are benefits which make society wealthy.
There was a time when these same companies tried to ban magnetic tape!
We need progress and music for humankind, not profit for the few.
