Quik's about as talented as they come. One of my all time favorites. Got to see him live twice...he's great live too.

Safe to say thats hes one of the best producers ever. He took G-funk to a whole new level. Safe and sound and rhythmalism have some of the most multi-layered funky G-funk beats ever. He doesnt rely totally on samples as like dre too

Next time you catch your cousin listening to some Ying Yang Twins, take that shit away and tell him it's crap. Give him some Biz, EPMD, Quik, De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, or Pac... and say "this is what it's all about. Look into it." It's on us to keep it going. Show them the right way. Get them listening to the old school stuff. Don't let it die with the rest of us. Okay, that's enough of me preachin, you know what to do now. LOL!

It's funny, rolling through my old neighborhood, the new blood is like "I remember you from when I was lil" and they hear this stuff gettin played. Then they say "this shit is hot! what is this?" Then I tell them, "this is what was hot when you was crappin your diapers and watching power rangers. Get back to where it all started if you wanna find this kinda stuff." I'm kinda glad I'm that old man now, I get to educate the young blood. Point them in the right direction. It up to us now. Teach em.

Nothin better than the old school. I STILL bump this shit. This is the rap I grew to love. I'm let down by the new shit. Club mixes and booty rap, nonsense. The real shit used to tell a story, it used to have a moral, that's the rap I love. Real street poets. Real messages. I hate to admit it, but Nas might be right. Hip hop is dead. We need to revive it with something real. New school needs to take a lesson from the old school. God bless Quik and all the poets who opened the eyes to this art.
