Homesexuality is an illness? When was this video?

Homosexuality was classified as a mental illness until political pressure in the 1970's changed the diagnosis.

Homosexuality is a mental disorder triggered by early childhood development abnormalities/poor parenting/molestation, etc.

There is no "gay gene", there may be a predilection towards homosexuality, but it needs the proper psych. triggers to manifest itself.

Similarly, you may have a predilection towards violence/murder, it doesn't mean you will ever act on them without the triggers.

You are speaking as though Homosexuality is a bad thing... "poor parenting, abnormalities, etc". I know several gay people who have had great parents and perfectly normal childhoods.

homosexuality have been proven to biological. you are born liking men... just google it.
bobd007 (November 24, 2008 at 11:10 am)
You have no idea what you're talking about, what you said is factually incorrect.

There is no proof that anyone is born gay, there is tons of proof about the causation of homosexuality and thousands have converted back to hetero.

Just because the media doesn't report it doesn't mean it's true, if what you said was true the activists and the media would be screaming they have the science to prove it they don't.
I don't care what people do in their bedrooms, it's a shame that they suppress info.

At least he admits he's a hypnotist in this clip- probably as James Randi would eat him alive if he didn't!

Indeed- though i don't know if he charges stacks of money for people to become brainwashed and lose their friends and familly.. There is a nugget of truth in that many illnesses are made worse with stress. Though, homosexuality isn't an illness and is also found in the animal kingdom.

True, a positive outlook is usually a good thing, though it wont always help, depending on the illness. But suggesting positive thinking is one thing, suggesting some form of transcendental supernatural "healing force" is not only unsupported by science, it can be harmful if such advice is taken over real medicine and therapy. This is what really torques me about the "Secret" cult, spouting their (non)"Law of Attraction" when no such law, as it is described, exists in nature.
laserofjustice (September 21, 2008 at 3:14 pm)
I agree totally. There is no supernatural healing force, there is evidence of the benefits of relaxation techniques such as you'd learn in yoga (I don't hold with the religious aspect of it myself, but found the physical and mental exercises useful).

Medical science has taken decades of research, trial and error, whereas most "healing force" beliefs are based on blind faith and rigid superstition. I can see the appeal of the fantasy of "healing force" but I need empirical evidence.
