They all take steriods and anyone naive to think they have natural physiques are'nt quite with it. But as for Shawn he had the best physique EVER, every body part in propotion should have been Mr Olympia, still do not see any physique as good as his even in these monstrous steriod taking days

well you probably forgot that when shawn ray was training dorian yates was mr.o and dorian had one of the most symetric bodies at that time although being that large.
dorian was 275 while shawn was 218 i think....
besides shawn ray can be credited for being on podium of mr.o for more then a decade in a row.... his consistancy and symetry will always be a goal for anyone who has interest in bodybuilding.

It sucks that the IFBB only really awards the Mr.O to those who are deserving when the current Mr.O quits. After that they only award it to Mr.O and spot him points for being Mr.O. The sport is mostly political and Shawn should have gotten his atleast once, if not twice. He was always ON.

The IFBB and their supposed ban on steroids is the epitome of hypocrisy. Shawn Ray was the face of bodybuilding in the 90's. The quality of his physique is only paralleled by the likes of Kevin Levrone. Both of them should have been numbers one and two on more than one occasion. I would mention Flex Wheeler but Mr. Oilympia gets no love from me. He's an ass and worked half as hard as people like Kevin and Shawn. Synthol is for pussies.

I think they are punishing him because he was tested positive for steroids years back. He should be awarded for his work i think he is a true representative for body building . This guy can sell the sports

I agree that the sport did have some sort of a bias against Ray. It's ironic that one of the smallest, if not the smallest, guys on stage was the one penalized for taking steroids. I don't think the IFBB handled the ban on steroids situation very well in the early years of that rule change.
