why do people waste their time building lego models when we have china making technology to do this kind of stuff for us?

Because legos are cheap yet there are no limitations to it.

If you use china, not only it can be broken but hard to carry around sometimes. Legos can be taken apart to carry and also when it breaks, it is not hard to fix it unlike china.
