Wordpress is no doubt the best platform to start a blog. However for better security and control it is best to host the blogs on WordPress on your own servers with your own domain names.

Sorry kids, but this video is out of date. It was made for WordPress 2.0.... since then WP has released 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.5, and 2.6.
