when i open up a video in VirtualDub after i increase the volume n i want this new edit to replace the old one how do i do it

i downloaded the MSU lossless file thingy,
but i dont know where to save it..

It should be in the README that came with the download. If not, put it into the location
C:/Program Files/VirtualDub/Plugins

Ok, so I did everything exactly as in the video, yet I get this error when trying to compress:

"Error initializing audio stream compression:
The audio codec cannot compress the source audio to the desired format.

Check that the sampling rate and number of channels in the source is compatible with the selected compressed audio format."

Do you know how you "check that the sampling rate and number channels in the source is compatible with the selected compressed audio format"?

Do all these features come in virtual dub 1.7.2 because i can't ind the virtual dub 1..7/1?

Thanks for the tip about the 16/32 size for camstudio, much better at medium 16. I am going to give your compression method a try.
