Also zealpal, compiz didn't work (or not too well) on 6.10. It was beryl tearbd2 was using in this video.

Replying to Dncemnky - Your files will not automatically carry over depending on where you install it to. If you install ubuntu to another drive other than your windows, you can do whats called a dual boot, basically having both ubuntu and windows. But if your overwriting the windows drive you have you'd have to back up all those files to either another harddrive, storage card, flashdrive etc. and carry them over manually.

no, linux supports all kinds of hardware. If you want the cool effects like the desktop cube you'll want at least AGP (I am running Ubuntu with an AGP card just fine)
